The electrification process has begun ..... Here is the first draft.
We have fun making glass and other stuff. Cooking and travel are important too. You always must take the dog and have at least 4 cats roaming the house. My motto is "You should never be too busy to explore." If you are too busy then you need to flush your smart phone down the toilet, put the Tablet in the bonfire then disconnect the Cable for a few days. Brains' need time to reset.

More Triangle development ........
Here is my second triangle test. Better than the first as I used some thinner welded stainless steel but not quite there yet. Had a small separation problem and a fracture. Will continue to development. Progress must continue.

Need to cook ......
My latest glass experiment went sideways so I decided to cook something. Poached fish with Mediterranean cream sauce.
Poach de Fish
Bring the poaching water to a boil again then turn down to medium. Put the fish in and poach till you can stick a fork through it easily - then it be done.
While the fish is cooking strain the sauce through a sieve pressing it through with a spatula so as to get all the flavors out of the veggies. Then put the sauce on warm and whisk - of course.
Serve it up and chow down !!!!!
Poach de Fish
- Prepare the poaching liquid
- In a large frying pan put in 4 cups water, 1 cup white wine, garlic, shallot, parsley and bay leaf.
- Bring to boil then let simmer for 30 minutes. If you cheat with the time the fish will have no flavor.
- In fry pan put in some butter and crushed black olives, capers, garlic and a bit of anchovy (don't' freak out with the anchovy - just put it in). Sautee on medium heat for 15 minutes.
- In a sauce pot separate yokes of 4 eggs. Place in pot with a bit of water.
- Cook on Medium while whisking till warm
- Add 3 tbsp. butter
- Add 1 pint heavy cream
- Get it nice and hot while whisking
- Add the sauté from the fry pan to the cream sauce & whisk whisk whisk your heart out. I add a bit of salt and hot sauce too - but that's just me. Cook for about 10 minutes.

A Big Tall Thing ...........
We are going to screw around with something different. Instead of low and wide we are going to tall and thin. It will take a while to melt and pour but we will have more gravity pushing it as the heat expands the glass shards .......... results to follow in a day or so.

Just made this tonight ..........
After the Farmers market today I felt like wippin' up something good so I went to the meat guy and he set me up with a kick ass rib steak. I had to dress it up so I rubbed in some of my special seasoning (receipt another day) and made a quick cream, mushroom, tarragon and cognac sauce.
Here is how the sauce goes.
More to follow ..................
Here is how the sauce goes.
- Mince some mushrooms, add some garlic and sauté in butter till brown. Then add the cognac + some fresh tarragon and cook down for 10 more minutes. The mushrooms absorb all the other flavors.
- Add a bit of heavy cream
- Separate 6 egg yokes and beat with a small bit of water & heat on medium high while whisking.
- Add the mushroom mix to the egg yokes.
- Add some more heavy cream + salt & pepper.
- Cook it down on medium high while whisking - remember that heavy cream is actually 60% water so it will cook down.
- When done press through a sieve.
- Serve it up hot with your steak
More to follow ..................

The saga of Triangles
Well here is the first test of the triangle oil lamp. It actually came out better than the pic but it was too difficult to get out of the mold ............. soooooo I am going to redo this with a stainless steel mold with slopping sides.
Therefore I have to head back to the welders shop and make it happen. My work never ends.

Lucia - Our New Rat Kitty
This is Lucia. She is a 2 month old rat kitty. She replaced our old black fat cat who passed last Sunday.
Lucia is on the move and is already terrorizing the household.
We wish good luck with our older snobby cats.

Making Triangles - I love odd numbers
I want to do something different here. I am tired of making circles and ovals so I am setting out to make some triangles. I went out an scrounged up some hot rolled steel and had it cut and welded. Its pretty thick so it should hold up under 1800F. We shall see.
Here it is in action. Results to follow.
It hot in there !!!!!

Changing our name again ..... When will it ever end
Well I had to change our name from Kepping Glass Works to Girlz Jewelry because lots of girlz buy our jewelry. But in my haste I forgot that we make lots of other stuff like oil lamps. What a pain in the ass. I had to change all my sites back which was a total waste of time.
I should have listened to my wife and never changed it in the first place. I am an idiot - but a smart one? Does that even make sense?
